NuStep is a global team for the Alzheimer’s Association’s The Longest Day event. NuStep is the manufacturer of an exercise bike and encourages fitness centers to participate in the Longest Day to promote healthy lifestyles while honoring the strength and endurance of those living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. Nustepping to End Alzheimer’s
Paradise Valley Estates is a premiere Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Fairfield, California and has long been a supporter and advocate for those living with and caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s disease. We offer programming here at our campus to nurture body mind and spirit.
Our Team The Paradise Valley Estates Nusteppers joined the event due to our strong relationship with NUSTEP INC. We are the recent winner of the 2015 NuStep Pinnacle Award, which recognizes senior communities for outstanding whole person wellness programming. Our support and love of Nustep, its product, people, and passion encouraged us to participate in The Longest Day! Our wellness philosophy encompasses the spirit of The Longest Day which represents the strength and endurance of caregivers and those living with Alzheimer’s disease.
We will be NUSTEPPING to end Alzheimer’s disease from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm in our PVE Powerhouse. Both residents and staff will be joining in the fun of this special day. We have been active in our fundraising efforts for 3 months and hope to be the winner of the customized NUSTEP recumbent cross trainer in purple- the color of the Alzheimer’s Association. We have raised over $23,700 and counting for Alzheimer’s care, support and research! We hope to touch the lives of Fathers and families as we celebrate Fathers Day here at PVE.
On a personal note my father lives with Alzheimer’s disease and I encourage him to stay active and walk once a day with his dog Ella. Seeing his personal struggle and his decline has made this event even more personal for me #ENDALZ by 2025.
I am honored to represent Paradise Valley Estates as our team captain and hope to participate again in 2016.
