Memories in the Making: City Stroll and Airplane Fish by Frank
Memories in the Making is an Alzheimer’s Association art therapy program for individuals with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. Volunteer facilitators help people with dementia – many of whom often have no art background – create drawings and paintings. These sessions provide participants social interaction and boost their self-esteem while opening the channels of communication with loved ones.
Today’s featured Memories in the Making artist is Frank. Frank is a talented artist who has lived on both coasts of the United States, spending some time in San Francisco and some time in New York. He worked throughout his career as an engineer, as well as a period of time as a naval officer and in the Reserves. His favorite hobbies have included painting, music, and traveling. He is also known to enjoy an occasional ice cream cone on a warm day. In his younger years, Frank and his wife had a great love for dogs and even had paintings of them up in their home. Frank is very happy to be a part of the Memories in the Making group, and takes pride in knowing that people enjoy his artwork.
Frank’s paintings are just two of the many works of art that will be auctioned off at our annual Memories in the Making Art & Wine Auction, held this year on March 2 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. In addition to work by Memories in the Making artists, the silent and live auction selection will include fine wines, unique experiences and luxury items.
